My '87 Savage had 30,000 miles when I traded it in and the belt was perfect. My HD has 40K on it's belt and is also perfect. I know of one belt on a HD Sportster 883 that has 80K+ on it and is still going strong. If you can avoid sharp rocks they can last for a long time.
